Whatsapp Made New Statement: Nothing Will Change

WhatsApp has made a new statement regarding the privacy statement, which has resonated widely around the world, stating that the issue is misunderstood, and in fact nothing about protecting data will change.

WhatsApp says nothing will change, stating that messages and other information will "be protected as before":

  • WhatsApp and Facebook cannot see your messages and listen to your conversations.
  • WhatsApp does not keep your messages and calls logs.
  • WhatsApp and Facebook cannot see the location data you have shared.
  • It cannot share your WhatsApp contacts with Facebook.
  • WhatsApp groups will continue to be private.
  • You can make your WhatsApp messages disappear.
  • You can download all your data on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp has already been collecting our information since 2016. The only thing that changed is this time asking for confirmation:

WhatsApp is actually collecting user data since the critically changed data policies in 2016. These data are already used for Facebook's advertising policies, and the only thing that changes today is to inform users of this situation. Stuck in the corner with new legal regulations, Facebook now wants to play open.

It is not known how the discussion of WhatsApp's Privacy Policy will end. However, users' decisions to stop using WhatsApp have spread around the world. When we look at app stores, we see that currently the most downloaded apps are instant messaging software that rival WhatsApp. Whether the continuation of the pressures will make WhatsApp take a step back, we will all see in the coming days.
